COURSES: SOCIAL & POLITICAL STUDIES –ENGLISH LANGUAGE 

Subject: Citizen and democracy 

Lesson Title: Immigration 

Grade: 11 

Length: 60 min 

Short Description of the Lesson Plan: 

The aim of this lesson is for the students to become aware and comprehend the immigration phenomenon in all its complexity. Greece, being one of the biggest “receiving “countries of both refugees and immigrants, is now facing an enormous challenge, thus making it compulsory for students to fully grasp the concept of fleeing one’s country and to realize that all of us are potential refugees or immigrants. They also need to be able to pinpoint the reasons that force people to immigrate and understand that we are dealing with a timeless phenomenon, therefore all prejudices and biases need to be removed, starting from the classroom and moving outwards into the local community and beyond. The lesson will take place in the computer lab.

ERASMUS+  3ο ΓΕΛ Τρικάλων “ΟΔΥΣΣΕΑΣ ΕΛΥΤΗΣ”

Οι βασικοί στόχοι του εγκεκριμένου αυτού Ευρωπαϊκού προγράμματος για το σχολείο μας είναι να προάγει την ελευθερία, την ανεκτικότητα και την καταπολέμηση των διακρίσεων μέσα στην εκπαίδευση, ενισχύοντας τις διεθνείς σχέσεις και την αλληλοκατανόηση όπως επίσης και την αυτογνωσία. Επιπρόσθετα έχει σα στόχο να προβληματίσει την εκπαιδευτική κοινότητα των εμπλεκομένων 6 χωρών Ισπανίας, Πολωνίας, Γερμανίας, Ουγγαρίας, Γαλλίας και Ελλάδας στο θέμα των μεταναστών και των προσφύγων που προέρχονται κυρίως από τρίτες χώρες, συμμετέχοντας στην προσπάθεια της ένταξής τους στην Ευρωπαϊκή κοινότητα. Η διάρκεια του προγράμματος είναι τρία χρόνια και προβλέπονται μετακινήσεις μαθητών και καθηγητών στις χώρες που συμμετέχουν. Η δεύτερη μετακίνηση πραγματοποιήθηκε στη Γερμανία με συμμετοχή 6 μαθητών της Α΄ Λυκείου και 2 εκπαιδευτικών του σχολείου μας.

Each country had to write a chapter about their history of migration.
All these chapters were put together in one during the mobility in Lahr, thereby creating one common eBook.
This electronic book contains 6 chapters ( concerning all 6 partners) and the team responsible for its coordination was ours, the Greek team.
